Pastoral Search Update 5/28/2025

Dearest Saints of Meadowview,

Greetings in the Lord!

Thank you to all of you who participated in the Pastoral Search Prayer Vigil we had on May 1!  Over 50 of you signed up and many of those included husband and wife teams! We are sure the Lord will use that time in the life of our Church. 

As you know, throughout the last few months leadership has spent time in prayer, assessment, evaluation and planning for the impending Pastoral Search.

As a result, we have developed a “Church Profile” to communicate Meadowview’s Mission, Vision, Values, History, Philosophy of Ministry and Needs.  It is our prayer that the Lord will use this brochure to attract the right candidate to Meadowview. When the graphic designer is finished with this document, it will be made public and posted on the PCA website and other appropriate avenues to search for a PCA Pastor. 

We are now ready to select the Pastoral Search Committee!  

This Committee will include:

• 2 Elders
• 1 Deacon
• 2 Male MEMBERS
• 4 Female MEMBERS

Pastoral Search Team Nominations Schedule:

• Nominations: June 1, 8, 15
• Names Published: June 20th Friday Email ; June 22 in the Bulletin
• Congregational Meeting to Vote on the Committee: June 29

This undertaking is a weighty responsibility.  But the Lord will raise up and empower those he has chosen for this task. Nominees must commit to attending at least 3 of the 4 Orientation and Training meetings on Wednesdays in July (July 9, 16, 23, 30).   If you would like to nominate an individual to be on the team, please ask them if they can honor this commitment before nominating them.   Nomination forms are in the Narthex or can be obtained from the front office.  Nominations will be accepted on Sunday mornings on June 1, 8, and 15^th and in the front office during the week from now until June 13^th.

Here is an overview of the commitment and work:

• Weekly Team Meetings – Wednesdays 6 – 7:30 pm from July 9 – Oct 1
• On Your Own Time: Reviewing applications, watching sermons, calling/emailing candidates and references, planning the visit
• Beyond October 1st – Additional work and meetings to coordinate interviews and visits as well as continue to review applicants until one is chosen.

Concluding Remarks

Brothers and Sisters of Meadowview, this is an exciting phase for all of us and it is an important one in the life of our Church! To that end, we conclude this update the same way in which we ended the last one:

This is not a time to shrink back in fear or anxiety or frustration, but it is a time to call upon the Lord to do what he has always done in and for Meadowview! He loves us. He has a man chosen for us.  May our deliberate, thoughtful, prayerful process help us to seek Him and understand what He is doing here at 1 Graceway Drive for His Glory, our good, and the furtherance of the Kingdom!
