Meadowview Family,
Hello from the Pastoral Search Committee! It has been a couple months since our last update, and much has transpired in the intervening time.
November and December saw us working closely with a couple potential candidates for the position of our next senior pastor. As we met, interviewed and discussed these men, it became evident that neither was the man God was leading the committee to put before the congregation. Please pray for these men, and all others who have applied. The church is full of many faithful laborers who love Christ and His Bride and are committed to a life of Kingdom service. Pray that their families and ministries flourish in the paths God is directing them.
So, where does this leave our committee? We continue to do what we have set out to do since last summer: to find the man God has already chosen for us. That leaves us in the process of reviewing applicants and actively seeking out the one we believe best suites the body at Meadowview.
Please continue to pray for the committee. While we remain committed to our task and still enjoy our time together, there is inevitably some discouragement that comes with pursuits that do not turn out as we had initially hoped. But know these pursuits are not a waste, but a part of the process which helps us better understand the task before us. Pray for our discernment as well as we consider others who have and will apply.
The scripture at the top of this page was part of a short devotional time we recently shared as a committee, and it’s our prayer for Meadowview. May God bless our church with His strength and peace!
