24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. -Hebrews 10:24-25
Dear Meadowview Family,
What a great few weeks it has been worshipping together under the shadow of the cross in our front lawn and parking lot these past 3 Saturday evenings. Here’s a photo that Jeremy Gobble captured with his drone after Worship this past week as that storm rolled in.
That was one crazy storm and to think it was only a 15% chance of rain! As recent as yesterday, it was looking like there was over a 50% chance of rain for this coming Saturday afternoon and evening. Prior to this, after much meeting and prayer the elders had looked at opening our building to worship for the first week in June. We have decided to move this up one week, given the uncertainty of the weather. So, we will be meeting in our building this Sunday at 10:30 am!
I understand this news will be met with a variety of reactions and emotions. I made a video that was launched last night explaining this decision as we looked at what Scripture says about Gathered Corporate Worship, Shepherding, One-anothering, and Christian Community. In that Video I described the protocols we will be taking to do this in a way that loves one another while still enabling us to worship as Scripture calls us to.
The Video is the first video found at the bottom of this email. It is 40 minutes long and I ask each of you to watch it so you can understand where we are coming from on this decision and what to expect should you join us Sunday.
This article outlines the detailed procedures we will be following and what you can expect on Sunday. I also ask that each of you read this so you are fully aware of the requirements to worship this Sunday indoors. In short, here is a list of some of the points from that article.
- There will be
NO Nursery, Nursing Room, Children’s Ministry, Youth, or Bible Hour
- Nursing & Rocking Rooms in Narthex will be Open
- Youth and Children’s Ministry have resumed
- Adult Bible Hour is meeting
- We will be worshiping at under 33% Capacity
- Seats are distanced and arranged in groups of 2,3,4,5,6
- Social Distancing is in effect – No Physical Contact, maintain 6′ distance
- No Entry if Sick or showing any cold or flu-like symptoms
- We will be Checking Forehead Temperatures with non-invasive Temperature Guns
- Face Masks are not required, but you may wear them. We have some to give out.
- We will be singing – 3 songs in total
- Entry is through the Narthex, the 2 doors on each side of the entrance-way.
- Doors Open at 10:15, with orderly entry into the Worship Center to find seats
- Bulletins will be on the seats already (placed there with gloves beforehand)
- No socializing in the Worship Center. Please do that outside
- Exit is out the side doors
Again, if you have questions about this, please watch the first video and read the article first, both of which are thorough. If the Worship Center reaches capacity, we will have an overflow room in the Fellowship Hall where the service will be streamed to a socially distanced chair arrangement.
While we have tried to develop a system that enables the most amount of people to comfortably worship together given all the guidance we’ve evaluated, I understand that this protocol might not enable some of you to worship with us in person. We will be streaming the service as we have in the past and we offer you the freedom to do that until which time you can rejoin us in person.
I love and miss everyone! It will be great to see whoever can make it Sunday and once again worship in our space together.
Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! 7 For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. (Psalm 95:7)
Here is the video that outlines our thought process on Gathered Corporate Worship and what you can expect. Key Scripture : Hebrews 10:24-25.
This next video was from the end of May about the need for the Christian to live within the tension’s of our day. Tensions such as that of honoring the Government while obeying Scripture. The Tension between how to act wisely in this time but still live our lives. The tension between fear and a cavalier attitude. The need to avoid both conspiracies and fear. The need to offer Grace and Mercy and Compassion to those who don’t agree with us, particularly when it comes to the decisions one-another makes regarding their lives. We are Free in Christ Brothers and Sisters. Key Scripture Isaiah 8:12.
