Saturday’s Sunset Service Announcement

,   | May 8, 2020

Dear Meadowview Family,

“The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness,” (Exodus 34:6, ESV)

In case you missed last night’s announcement during Wed. Worship & The Word, I have some important information to share with you.  On Tuesday evening the Session had a meeting scheduled to discuss how to move forward as a Church.  It has been 8 Sundays of Livestreaming and with no end in sight.  Then, 2 hours before our meeting, the Governor’s latest Executive Order was released and for the first time it Exempted Churches from Mass Gathering Classification with certain requirements.

Praise God!  We discussed the implications for us at Meadowview at length.  The Session will be discussing, praying, and developing plans in the coming week.  However, since it is now legal for us to meet outside, we will hold our First Gathered Worship Service out by the Cross in the U-Shaped Drive in our parking lot and fields. Here are the Details.

Saturday’s Sunset Service @ 7 PM

  1. BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS, bring extra for Seniors (no Chairs provided)
  2. 6 ft + SOCIAL DISTANCING between Family Units will be Enforced
  3. NO PHYSICAL CONTACT Beyond Your Family Unit
  4. STAY HOME IF SICK (with anything sickness)
  5. Feel free and Encouraged to Wear Face Coverings
Comments on Precautions
Folks, this is wonderful news!  But it is serious.
  • If you have any sickness (cold, sniffles, sore throat, etc.), you need to stay home even if you know it isn’t COVID-19. You could pass your cold to someone that will diminish their immune system’s ability to fight COVID-19 if they are exposed to it.
  • I love that we are a hugging Church!  BUT, as much as that will be our urge, you must not make physical contact with anyone outside of your immediate family unit.
  • Family units must stay at least 6 feet apart, but why not 10 feet?
  • If you are 65 and older, of course you are welcome to come, but please make a wise knowing your individual circumstances.
  • If you have a pre-existing condition which exacerbate COVID-19, you should not come.
If the above requirements are not followed, it will hinder our ability to meet in the future.  Please love one another in this way by abiding by these requirements.  And, while not required by the Governor’s Order it is not a bad idea to wear face coverings. So please don’t be ashamed to do so.

Other Happenings Saturday Evening
  • Offering: We will be taking an offering for the first time in 2 months.  But we will not be placing the plate to do so.  Either baskets will be walked around or there will be a place to put your offerings.
  • 5 Ways to Love Our Community Drives – This will be a great opportunity to bring our Drive Items
    • Greater Things Outreach Center – Shelf-Stable Food Items
    • Davidson County Senior Services – Adult Pull-Ups, Boost/Ensure, Toiletry Items

What About Those Who Can’t Come?

The Saturday Evening Service will be filmed and Streamed on Sunday at 10:30 am for those who can’t be with us.

Concluding Thoughts
Please keep the elders in your prayers for our upcoming meetings.  There is a lot to consider. Remain in prayer for the health of our community, for the government, and that the Glory of the Lord is made manifest during this time.

I love and miss you all Meadowview!  I can’t wait to see everyone again.  But, whether you can be with us or not, it is clear that God Loves You So Much More! He Gave you His Son Jesus!  Will he not also give you all things! (Romans 8:32)

“The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness,” (Exodus 34:6, ESV)
