We serve an amazing God! The creator of the universe, of molecules small and galaxies large, not only created us too, but knows us intimately! And he sent His son to redeem us and to make us His Children. Praise God!
4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God. (Galatians 4:4-7, ESV)
My life is a tapestry of experiences that has made me who I am today. As the grandson of Syrian Melkite Catholics who immigrated to New York, I definitely had an interesting childhood which has shaped my life. I have been an engineer, manager, entrepreneur, writer, teacher, administrator and pastor. Through this varied experience I have learned one thing. Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. (Proverbs 19:21, ESV) Or as I like to say (endearingly) “Man plans but God laughs!” Its all for His glory and Romans 8:28 after all.
I have come to learn that repentance and belief, components of saving faith, are not only how by Grace we come into the family of God, but that they are the daily posture of God’s Children. Day by day, moment by moment we are called to repent and believe the Gospel. Watch a part of my testimony below.
I thank God for His Ordinary Means of Grace (Word, Sacrament, and Prayer) by which he strengthens me.
I am grateful beyond words for my wonderful wife Susan (the girl I wanted to be my high school sweetheart) and my 3 kids – Adam, Ariel, and Asher. Oh yeah, and our dog Camo.
I am grateful for the great privilege and opportunity of serving Christ’s bride here at Meadowview. Did I mention we serve an amazing God?
