Dear Meadowview,
Well, the school year is underway and so is our fall ministry schedule.
In a lot of ways, the theme for September is the theme for our Missions Conference.
“For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” (Acts 2:39)
God is indeed faithful to His promise as is evident in His work to grow the Kingdom in our community through our families! To that end, this past Sunday we had a lot of announcements about happenings this week as well as for the month of September. If you missed these announcements, here is the video. Scroll below the video to read about them in more detail.
1) Children’s Ministry Changes
I want to start with the last thing that was announced. At the beginning of the summer our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Marie Kuhn, came to Taylor and myself and explained that with her increased travel plans to visit her growing family that she believes the time in her role as Children’s Ministry Coordinator has come to an end. We are so grateful for Marie’s dedicated, love-filled work in children’s ministry these many years. Marie truly loves children and is passionate about making Christ known to them and their discipleship through Children’s ministry. While Marie is stepping down, she is not leaving us and for that we are grateful. Thank you, Marie!
Marie suggested that Michelle Speas (our Nursery coordinator) would be a great candidate to be the new Children’s Ministry Coordinator. Through the summer we worked with both of these godly women and Taylor our Minister to Youth and Families to seek what the Lord is doing here at Meadowview with regard to children’s ministry. We agree that Lord has gifted Michelle to work and serve in this area and that He has gifted Meadowview by bringing the Speas family to us for such a time as this. Praise God for how he provides!
2) Wednesday Night’s Program Begins This Wednesday – Let’s Fellowship Together!
a. 5:00- 6:00 pm Supper
b. 5:45 – 6:15 pm Prayer Group, Ladies Ensemble
c. 6:00 – 7:15pm Children’s Ministry & Youth Ministry
d. 6:15 – 7:00 pm Adult Class
3) New Wed Night Adult Class: Image, Idolatry, and Identity: Who Am I?
The elders have asked me to teach on the concept of our identity in Christ, given how prominently it features in my preaching. What does this mean? Is it Biblical? How can a right perspective on identity reshape everything about us? I’d love for everyone to be here for this important class.
4) New Members Class Begins Sunday at 9am in room 201
We have been blessed with lots of new people worshipping with us at Meadowview! If you are a visitor or regular attender, we welcome you! We’d love for you to attend our Discovering Meadowview Class to learn more about what we believe here at Meadowview, what the Gospel is, what Presbyterian and Reformed means, what our history is, and how you can get plugged in. Attending this class is not a commitment to join the church.
5) Mission’s Conference – Saturday, September 24th and Sunday 25th
Theme: Kingdom Here, Now Near
“For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” (Acts 2:39)

Meet our Mission Conference Speaker, Pastor Aldo Leon
This is an exciting month! We pray as the Lord taught us to pray, “Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” May all we do this month and always serve to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating these things and for these events.
God Bless,
Pastor George
